Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The Plant Manager at our Palghar location will be responsible for overseeing complete plant operations, including DG Set manufacturing and production planning. The role requires 10+ years of plant experience, strong knowledge of DG Sets, and proven ability to manage 50+ employees. The candidate will ensure efficient production, high-quality standards, timely project execution, and optimal resource utilization while driving operational excellence and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Operations Management
• Lead and manage end-to-end plant operations including production, planning, quality, maintenance, stores, and dispatch.
• Ensure smooth manufacturing of DG Set Manufacturing.
• Drive operational efficiency and ensure production targets are achieved within timelines.
• Optimize plant capacity utilization and minimize downtime.

2. Production Planning & Execution
• Develop and implement effective production planning strategies.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Ensure adherence to customer specifications and project deadlines.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams for seamless execution.

3. Technical Oversight
• Provide technical guidance in DG Set manufacturing.
• Ensure proper testing, inspection, and quality checks before dispatch.
• Maintain strong knowledge and operational oversight of Diesel Generator (DG) Sets and related electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot technical and operational issues effectively.

4. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
• Lead, supervise, and manage a workforce of 50+ employees including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and operators.
• Ensure proper manpower planning and resource allocation.
• Conduct performance reviews, training programs, and skill development initiatives.

• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

5. Maintenance & Infrastructure
• Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of DG Sets and plant utilities.
• Implement maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

6. Quality, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, electrical safety norms, and company policies.
• Maintain high-quality standards in manufacturing processes.
• Ensure adherence to statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Handle audits, inspections, and client visits.

7. Cost Control & Continuous Improvement
• Monitor plant budgets and control operational costs.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity enhancement.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other improvement initiatives.
• Drive process improvements and reduce rejection/rework rates.

8. Reporting & Management Coordination
• Prepare MIS reports and present plant performance metrics to senior management.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments for smooth operations.
• Support strategic decision-making and long-term plant development initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in plant operations, preferably in switchgear or electrical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge ofDG Sets.
• Proven experience handling 50+ employees.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office.
• Excellent communication and team management abilities.
